Stress at work
Employers wanting to know what the new Health and Safety in Employment Act means for them (it covers workplace stress, fatigue and other matters) can book into a new roadshow for advice.
The Employers and Manufacturers Association is running two-hour workshops starting today in Tauranga with others planned for Rotorua tomorrow and Hamilton on Wednesday, then more later in Henderson, Papatoetoe, Whangarei and three in Auckland City. Blood wanted
Blood of all types is needed to boost the national stocks. That includes types O+, O-, A+, A-, B+, B- , AB+ and AB-.

Glenfield work
From today Works Infrastructure will start excavating and reconstructing Downing St next to the Westville Mall in Glenfield. Expect diversions during the work, which will take about five weeks. No work on Sundays. Questions: Contact North Shore City Actionline at (09) 486-8400.
Coastal grants
Groups and people looking after coastal areas in the Auckland Regional Council area can apply for up to $5000 help from the council's Environmental Initiatives Fund, which has just had a $50,000 boost.
Conditions apply. Projects already helped have included pest and weed eradication, dune revegetation, fencing waterways and environmental education. Ring fund co-ordinator Cathy Klouwens on 366-2000, ext 8082.
Art exhibition
