KEY POINTS:
A big fire at a furniture restorer's factory in Tauranga at the weekend gutted the building.
Firefighters called to the Cartmill and Parish premises on Courtney Rd took about six hours to put out the blaze, with eight trucks in attendance.
The fire started about 11.30pm on Saturday and "the two-storey building was well alight when the fire appliances arrived", a Tauranga fire station spokesman said.
No lives were endangered. Fire safety officers will be on the scene today to investigate the cause.
