A truck driver impaled by a skiff that smashed through his windscreen is out of intensive care and in a stable condition.
A vehicle towing a trailer was heading north last Thursday when one of the skiffs (a type of rowing boat) appeared to come loose and smashed through the windscreen of the oncoming truck.
The skiff impaled the 64-year-old driver through his groin.
The man, who was previously described as critical, was out of intensive care and in a stable condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
