KEY POINTS:
Copyright organisations say a massive bust of pirated DVDs in Auckland illustrates how easy they are to make.
Police found nine DVD burners in a boarding house in suburban Three Kings, which had the potential to churn out almost 250,000 disks in a year.
Director of the Federation Against Copyright Theft, Richard Storey is not surprised by the find. He says the technology is very cheap, so the capacity for making DVDs is only limited by the time someone can devote to it.
Mr Storey says the movies being pirated included recent titles such as Beowulf and 30 Days of Night.
