Whether they won or lost this weekend, Auckland Grammar had some work to do.
Talkback radio is not known as the natural domain of 17-year-old boys but in the wake of the suspensions handed out to the Kelston players involved in last Saturday's punch-up, the young men phoned in their droves.
Boys from St Peters, De La Salle, Dilworth, Mags, St Pauls, St Kents - all called in support of Kelston and to let people know that Grammar teams have a bad attitude.
And before old Grammarians start chest-thumping and banging on about jealousy, it's got nothing to do with the school's sporting excellence.
It's the sledging and the swaggering arrogance that means many of the boys hate playing Grammar. Grammar might have won a few trophies but they don't seem to have made many friends.
