What on earth can one say about Taito Phillip Field?
He was hardly a trailblazer as MP for Mangere. Being the first MP convicted on corruption charges is the most interesting thing he's done in his political career.
Once sentenced, he'll probably fade into obscurity, muttering about forces conspiring against him. That's provided the Government can prevent him from cashing in on his travel allowance perk.
I can only imagine the number of ex-politicians cursing the names of Roger Douglas and Phillip Field and wishing to hell they'd uncouple their wagons from the great and glorious government gravy train before it's derailed and everyone has to get off.
