Happy Father's Day to all the lovely dads out there and as a special Father's Day gift, I'd like to give you the finger.
Well, not me personally. But this week, I'd like to see all those dads out there who have yet to do so, make an appointment with their GP and get a warrant of fitness. A warrant that includes a prostate check.
I'm the token girl in the Blue September campaign, a campaign designed to raise awareness of prostate cancer, and I'd be failing in my role if I didn't let you know that 600 men die of cancer every year.
More importantly, that 300 of them die unnecessarily. A simple blood test or a short and sweet Hopoate could have saved the lives of 300 sons, brothers and fathers.
So please. It's not being self-indulgent to be responsible for your health. We love you. You're important to us. If you really want to protect us and look after us, you'll look after yourselves.
