Knowledge will be the key to New Zealand's future. Science and technology will be cornerstones of that intellectual capital.
For New Zealand to realise a bright future, however, there must be commonly held values that guide our endeavours and provide a clear sense of purpose.
Over the past month, Dialogue contributors have offered their views on what those values might be. The Common Core Debate has traversed constitutional and legal issues, educational values, commercial principles and those quintessential factors that mark us as New Zealanders.
Today we enter the technology debate and address the question of the values that should underpin our quest for innovation.
