A supporter of George Speight is unloaded from an ambulance at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva after suffering gunshot wounds. A 15-minute gunfight broke out between the military and the rebels near the perimeter of the parliamentary complex leaving seven Speight supporters, five civilians and two rebel soldiers, wounded. The fight came just hours after Fiji's new indigenous Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase, was sworn in. Both the rebel group and the military claimed the other side fired first.
