Fiji's new indigenous Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase, is sworn in at the military's Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Suva. Mr Qarase says there will be no restoration of the islands' multi-ethnic constitution that was abrogated when the military declared martial law in May. George Speight's rebels have said they do not recognise the authority of the newly appointed civilian Government, or of the military.
