A complaint accusing internet provider ihug of misleading advertising has been upheld.
M. McNatty complained to the Advertising Standards Authority that he responded to an advertisement promising broadband internet with a 3GB download limit for $39.95.
However, Mr McNatty soon found his connection had slowed significantly and ihug told him it was because he had exceeded his limit. Only 1GB was available during peak time.
The authority ruled that the advertisement "amounted to an exaggerated claim which overstated the product".
