Five potential public service leaders have been awarded fellowships to attend international courses. The awards are administered by the service's Management Development Centre.
Alison Fleming from the Department of Internal Affairs, and Isabel Evans, of Work and Income, have been awarded FCO Aotearoa Fellowships, each worth up to $30,000 and funded by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Each will be attending the executive development programme at Henley Management College in England, and will also undertake field visits.
Helen Wyn, from the Ministry of Health, is one of three winners of an MDC Fellowship, worth up to $40,000 and funded by public service chief executives. She will take programmes at Henley and Templeton College, Oxford.
Oxford's strategic leadership course is also part of the programme for MDC Fellow Michael Hollings of the Education Review Office. He goes on to the Centre for Creative Leadership at Greensboro in North Carolina. MDC Fellow Patricia Reade, from the Ministry of Social Development, will complete a tertiary education programme.
