Idol down to three

New Zealand Idol contestants are down to the final three after the public voted off Jesse O'Brien.

The 27-year-old from Hamilton, the oldest competitor in the Idol top 10, had sung tunes from rock groups The Exponents and Op Shop during Sunday's round of classic Kiwi anthems.


The three finalists left in the competition are Steven Broad, Nik Carlson and Rosita Vai.


The theme for the remaining three this Sunday will be "love songs".
