The Armed Offenders Squad was called to a house in Marewa, Napier due to "idiots with guns running around the place".
Police received a report from a member of the public who said he saw a carload of Mongrel Mob members pull up at a house in Nuffield Ave, Maraenui, carrying firearms, about 9.45am.
The Armed Offenders Squad was called, and houses in Nuffield Ave and nearby Williams Street were searched, as well as a car.
Nothing was found in the searches.
People in one of the houses were told to leave during the incident, but were later allowed to return.
