Police are seeking the identity of a woman found unconscious in a critical condition on Tamaki Drive near central Auckland at about 10.30am today.
Auckland police describe the woman as European, aged about 30 or 40, about 1.52m tall, of medium build, with dyed wavy shoulder-length auburn hair.
She was dressed in running gear when found by a motorist who moved her off the road and called an ambulance.
Ambulance officers and hospital staff thought the woman may have had a seizure while out running as there are no injuries that would indicate she had been hit by a car.
She was found on the northern side of Tamaki Drive, about 50m east of the Ngapipi Rd bridge.
Detective Sergeant Richard Kapa of Auckland police said the woman was still unconscious this afternoon and no progress had been made in finding her identity.
