This week is the annual iD Dunedin Fashion Week with one of the highlights, the Emerging Designer Awards, being held on Thursday.
The awards attract entries from around the world and this year's judging panel includes British celebrity fashion designer Zandra Rhodes.
Now in its 11th year, the festival has been going longer than New Zealand Fashion Week.
Popular demand has seen the runway show, held at the city's Railway Station, expand to two nights. Dunedin works in with the Melbourne Fashion Festival and times itself accordingly.
Organisers know little about Auckland Fashion Festival, iD chairwoman Susie Staley says.
"It's a shame it's the same week."
