HAMILTON
Detectives believe three attacks on Hamilton women may be linked.
The latest attack happened early last Sunday when a young woman was confronted by a man while she was walking through Steele Park.
The man began making obscene suggestions. The woman lashed out at him, and he punched her in the head twice.
When she fell to the ground, she was again assaulted, but a passer-by came to her rescue and her attacker fled.
The offender is described as a thin, light-skinned Maori, aged between 25 and 30, and with thick facial stubble. He is about 180cm (5ft 11in).
Police would like to hear from a group of teenagers who were in or near buildings in Steele Park that morning, or from witnesses.
They believe the offender may have also been responsible for an attack on a young woman on December 8 in Rothbrook Place, Hamilton, and on another on a woman in Grey St on April 8. Phone Detective Ricky Thompson, of East Hamilton police, on (07) 856-0291.
PAPAKURA

They escaped in a waiting Subaru Legacy, registration PZ1817, which had been stolen from National Women's Hospital. The car was later found at McLennan Park in Papakura.
One of the offenders was described as tall, of medium build and wearing pale, stone-washed jeans and a baggy blue sweatshirt.
