A 97% fat free strawberry yoghurt and ice cream blend has scooped this year's New Zealand Ice Cream Supreme Award.
Tip Top's Creamy Yoghurt Ice Cream Strawberry won over judges with its "smooth, creamy texture and natural strawberry flavour", the New Zealand Ice Cream Manufacturers' Association (NZICMA) said.
Tip Top also won best in standard ice Cream with inclusions category with Boysenberry Ripple and the kids' choice category with Goody Goody Gum Drops.
Among other winners were Wendy's Supa Sundaes Mint Choc Magic for premium ice cream, and Valentino's Gelato Yoghurt for gelato.
The awards are hosted by NZICMA, which represents the country's ice cream manufacturing industry.
A chief judge with a team of five took two days to judge 228 entries split over 11 categories in Auckland during the last week of April.
