Can you find out what is happening with Avondale railway station? The station has been moved across the road and the lights that have been put in cause a lot of trouble at peak times. There is nothing happening where the old station was, just a big pile of dirt.
Also, New Lynn station - does it have a place for park-and-ride? My company is moving to Newmarket and it would be good to be able to leave my car at New Lynn and catch the train. Heather Peters, Blockhouse Bay, and John Dalley, New Lynn.
Avondale station is scheduled to open at the end of June next year. And there are no plans for a park-and-ride at New Lynn station itself.
However, the Waitakere City Council is reviewing the parking situation in the area as a whole, with a view to providing options for additional parking close to New Lynn station.
I am a regular user of SH1 between Auckland and Wellsford, taking advantage of the excellent new motorway south of Puhoi at a speed which does not draw the attention of the police cars parked out of sight, presumably collecting their daily quota.
I would like to know why at the northern end of the tunnels the speed limit for about 1km has been reduced to 80km/h - again. David Frith, Remuera.
The speed limit has been reduced here so that drivers have to slow down before they reach the toll payment area at the Titford's Bridge turning bay.
The Transport Agency is looking at further safety measures to make it easier for motorists to turn into the bay.
On Fowlds Ave there is a painted roundabout. It is easy to drive over it, and many motorists do.
Is this legal? Do you have to go around a roundabout? Tony Cooper, Mt Albert.
A flush roundabout must be treated in the same way as a raised one, and must be driven around, not across.
