Prospective dog owners on the lookout for a "livewire" pooch would do no better than to adopt Penny the Staffordshire-cross.
The energetic 6-month-old puppy was transferred from the Whangarei SPCA to the Mangere Animal Village in late October.
Canine attendant Max Burndred says Penny needs an experienced owner with the time to teach her how to be a good dog.
"She also needs a lot of room to run around," says Ms Burndred.
SPCA marketing manager Martin Mackenzie says Penny requires a well-fenced home.
To adopt Penny, or any other animal at the village, contact the SPCA on (09) 256-7300. Penny's ID number is 153846.
