Waikato Armed Offenders Squad members are searching properties in Huntly, closing roads and causing headaches for commuters.
Hakarimata Rd and Harris St are central roads for those living and working in the area and many have posted on social media that they are being told to turn around and use State Highway 1, making them late.
Harris St appears to be closed between Webb St and the Tainui Bridge.
Waikato Senior Sergeant Simon Cherry would only say the road closures were the result of "protracted inquiries".
He said officers should be leaving Harris St soon, but were likely to take longer at Hakarimata Rd.
