A 48-year-old hunter who failed to rendezvous with his companion three days ago remained missing in the Urewera National Park last night.
Police said the Te Puke man was last seen on Saturday morning.
He was due to meet his hunting companion later that day but failed to show up.
Area commander Inspector Pat Tasker said the man was not equipped for a long stay in the open and might not have much food left.
A 23-year-old hunter was found alive and well yesterday morning after two cold wet nights in the Matahi Forest, southeast of Whakatane.
