Hunter found dead at bottom of cliff

A Wairoa hunter was found dead at the bottom of a ravine in northern Hawke's Bay yesterday.

The 48-year-old was hunting near Raupunga, 38km south west of Wairoa, police said.

The man's companion's reported him missing when he did not meet up with them at an arranged time.

A local search team discovered his body at the bottom of a cliff and the Lowe Rescue Helicopter was able to recover it.
