Police are hunting two men who allegedly threated a pair of women with a shotgun before robbing them in a Christchurch motel.
The two women were "enticed" to a unit at Worcester Street at about 8am yesterday morning, police said.
There they were threatened with what police believe to be a shotgun before being robbed and left bound inside the unit.
Police were searching for Samuel Anthony Lowsley - a 25-year-old European of medium build - and a 30-year-old Maori man over the incident.
Christchurch detective sergeant Al Lester said there were concerns about Lowsley's behaviour and warned against approaching him.
To give information on the incident call Christchurch Police on 03 3637400 or the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
