Police are looking for a man who threatened the occupants of a West Auckland house with a shotgun and fired shots in Avondale last night.
William (Wiremu) Morris is considered highly dangerous and should not be approached.
Police believe Morris was using methamphetamine at the time of the first incident and said his behaviour is becoming increasingly erratic.
Morris, who has a full-facial moko, is wanted in connection to a number of serious offences including kidnapping, threatening to kill, vehicle theft, intimidation, serious assaults and firearm offences.
Detective Constable Joshua Meinsma, of Waitakere police, told National Radio this morning Morris is "very dangerous" and should not be approached.
"He's very volatile and known to be using P, so we need to get him off the streets now," he said.
"We definitely want to find William Morris, he's believed to be armed and a threat to the public."
It is believed Morris could be driving one of two cars. One is a silver Mitsubishi Diamante, mid-90s four door saloon, with stolen registration plates, UY4115.
The other is a metallic blue XR8 Ford Falcon with tinted windows.
Anyone with information should contact Waitakere police.
