A search is underway for a Hamilton man who allegedly kidnapped his estranged female partner.
Police said they were called to Waikato Hospital late on Monday afternoon, when a woman, who was suffering from a head injury, claimed she had escaped from a Frankton house in Hamilton after being kidnapped by her ex-partner.
The man, 40-year-old Adam Potete Bailey from Hamilton was then visited by police, but failed to appear in the Hamilton District Court yesterday, where he faced charges in relation to the offending.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Andrew Mortimore said a warrant was now out for Bailey's arrest.
Bailey was described as a male, Maori, about 186cm tall and of medium build
