Police are hunting a gunman who robbed the manager of a Lower Hutt KFC restaurant yesterday.
Detective Constable Ben Quinn of Lower Hutt said the man entered through the backdoor of the Avalon restaurant and made his way to the manager's office, carrying what appeared to be a double-barrelled shotgun wrapped in a sweatshirt.
He was given an undisclosed sum of money by the manager before fleeing on a bicycle.
Police recovered an imitation firearm a short distance from the restaurant.
