Hundreds of homes in the Wellington suburb of Naenae are without power this evening.
According to Wellington Electricity, Bush St, Butler St, Harris St, Hewer Crescent, Kowhai St, Naenae Rd, Rata St, Strand Crescent and Westbury St were affected.
Wellington Electricity reported at 5.05pm that 1100 customers were affected by a feeder faullt. That rose to 1192 half an hour later, but then dropped to 990 by 6pm.
According to the latest update, at 7.01pm, 290 customers continued to be without power.
"Field crews are currently working on the fault," the company said on its website.
