Power has been restored to more than 1000 properties after two separate car crashes in Auckland plunged homes and businesses into darkness.
A Vector spokeswoman said a car collided into a power pole in the southeast Auckland suburb of Whitford around 5pm yesterday.
She said within a minute of this crash a car in Mt Albert also ploughed into a power pole there.
The earlier crash saw some 537 households without power, while the one in Mt Albert affected about 1000 households.
According to the Vector website repairs were completed overnight.
