The man accused of murdering a former Auckland University academic in England a fortnight ago will be back before the British courts later today (NZ time).
Forty-two-year-old Michael Humphries from Faringdon appeared at Oxford Magistrates Court last week charged with the murder.
He is accused of stabbing Barbara Johnston 49 times before strangling her with her own jumper.
The 55-year-old medical researcher's body was found in her bedroom in Woodstock Close, by police who broke the door down.
Humphries is due to appear at the Crown Court in Oxford.
