Human remains in hills

Police recovered human remains in the Waitakere Ranges, near Whatipu yesterday afternoon.

Police said the body was found by a woman well off a walking track in dense bush. The remains had been there for several years.

Police ruled out any connection between the discovery and Auckland student Iraena Asher, missing in west Auckland since October 11.
