Human remains have been found on a Far North beach.
A member of the public came across the remains on sand dunes at Mitimiti Beach, northwest Kaitaia, late this morning, police said.
The area has been cordoned off, and experts would be travelling to the scene tomorrow to assist police with identification, Northland police said.
