LAS VEGAS - The co-pilot aboard the plane that made a splash landing in New York's Hudson River says he will return to the air by the end of the month.
First officer Jeffrey Skiles says he will do some simulated flights to get reacquainted with the Airbus A320 plane.
Skiles was awarded a trophy Wednesday at an air traffic controllers' union meeting in Las Vegas.
The National Air Traffic Controllers Association also honored the plane's captain, Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, air traffic controllers Patrick Harten and Bill McLoughlin, and the flight attendants aboard the plane when it landed in the river on Jan. 15.
Skiles, a 49-year-old pilot, says he had trouble sleeping immediately after the incident but is OK now.
Sullenberger has not said when he will return to flying.
