West Coast people are reeling from New Zealand's worst workplace disaster since the sinking of the Kaitawa in 1966.
The 29 men who died in the Pike River Mine disaster left behind wives, partners, parents and children. To them, the Herald on Sunday and this magazine's parent company, APN News and Media, extend our deepest condolences.

Donations to the trust can be made at any Westpac or BNZ branch, or sent to the Grey District Council, PO Box 382, Greymouth 7840.
