The average New Zealand home owner could pick themselves up a lovely four-bedroom farm house in Brittany, France, or perhaps a 40-bedroom hotel in Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria.
That's according to guardian.co.uk's Fantasy Property Finder, which allows users to compare their house's price with those overseas.
If you sold your Auckland home for $535,000 (295,673 GBP) in February - the median price houses in the Auckland region sold for that month according to Real Estate Institute of New Zealand figures - you could buy a four bedroom apartment in Marrakech, Morocco, a three bedroom house in Phuket, Thailand, or a two bedroom flat in Budapest, Hungary.
Wellingtonians who sold their house for the region's February medium of $405,000 (223,837 GBP) could score themselves a nice one bedroom detached villa in Mendoza, Argentina, while if you sold your Christchurch property for the February median house price in that city of $383,000 (211,668 GBP) you could settle into a two bedroom apartment in Kuala Lumpur.
