A house is on fire in Papatoetoe in South Auckland.
A fire service spokeswoman says there is a fire in the roof of a single-storey home on Rangitoto Rd. She says the property is unoccupied.
Three appliances are in attendance and police have been called. Firefighters are doing an "offensive interior attack", which means they're inside the house but not inside the roof void.
Papatoetoe Cosmopolitan Club member Peter Bradley said it appeared the front unit of a block of flats had caught fire. He could see damage to the spouting where the fire had blackened the exterior.
