The latest player hoping to make some big bucks off the frenzied Auckland property market is a school.
Massey High will auction a two-bedroom bungalow at a gala day next month, with all profits destined to go to a foundation for its students.
Kumeu businessman Craig Walker donated the 65sq m house as a way of giving back to the institution he attended as a founding student in 1969.
"Business has been OK to me and I don't personally want for anything. I have a good family and drive around in a nice motor car and live in a nice house so it's a good way to help out," Mr Walker said.
"It's important to be supportive of youth and to make a better society. I like to help the community in positive ways."
