Police have tracked down the man whose alleged cannabis operation was thrown off track when his house caught fire.
The Homebush house resident allegedly had about 20 plants and was busted when firefighters came to put out a fire caused by the set-up. Senior Sergeant Carolyn Watson said police have charged a 28-year-old man in connection with the fire where the crude cannabis operation was located.
He has been charged with cultivation and possession of cannabis, and will appear in the Masterton District Court tomorrow.
The fire is believed to have started from the makeshift wiring and heating in the set-up. Firefighters put the fire out before it took hold and found the plants, slightly singed, inside.
