Firefighters have this afternoon been battling a house fire on the outskirts of Christchurch.
Southern Fire Communications' shift manager Lyn Crosson said the two-storey Templeton house was "well-involved" when firefighters arrived just after 3pm, but no one was believed to be inside.
The owner had since arrived at the Westfield Ave house, Crosson said.
Four fire engines and two water tankers were sent and firefighters were still battling the fire at 4.15pm, she said.
The fire appeared to have started in the top storey of the home, and a fire investigator would determine the cause.
