A house fire in Wairakei, near Taupō, has been extinguished.
Fire and Emergency shift manager Peter Stevenson said the fire at the Hinau Cres property was out and fire crews were still at the scene dampening down the area.
The fire service was called about 2pm to the house which was well involved in flames.
Two fire appliances and fire support vehicles attended, as well as police.
Stevenson said a fire investigator was at the scene carrying out inquires.
