Fire crews are at a Pukekohe house where a bedroom fire broke out in the early hours of this morning.
The fire service was called at 2.30am and arrived in time to stop the fire from spreading through the house, said north communications manager Jaron Philips.
One fire engine and a fire inspector were still at the address after 5am today.
Philips said he was unsure how many people had been inside the house when the fire broke out but everyone escaped safely.
