House fire: Fundraising page set up to help family

Friends of a woman who lost a child and her home in a house fire have set up a fundraising page to help the family.

Cherie Kingi, 35, remains in a critical condition in Waikato Hospital with serious burns she suffered in the fire at her Karen Cres home on Sunday.

Her 3-year-old son O'rlandau Kingi-Day died in the fire and sons Jahden, 18, and Ziah, 4, were hospitalised for smoke inhalation.

Friend Lara Signal has set up a Givealittle fundraising page.

"Cherie's family needs your help," she wrote on the page.

"Cherie's not doing great, and one of her boys died after a house fire in Hamilton. Help support her, and her family at this time by making a donation - no matter how big or small.

"We'll update new bank account details once we get that set up, but for now let's just get started."
