House blows apart on highway

Police are warning Hawke's Bay motorists to expect delays after a house being towed on a trailer blew apart this morning.

The incident occurred on State Highway 50a just south of Omahu Road.

"Pieces of the house are littering the road - and one lane is likely to remain closed until the area has been cleaned up, a police spokesman said.

"Traffic is still able to move but delays are likely for some time."
