A tradesman said the house was being prepared for sale but would not be ready until at least the start of next year.
"We've had this contract for four years and then last week we got a call out of the blue to get back up here," he said.
A source confirmed that the property would be on the market early next year. Real estate experts estimated the house would fetch only half the $43m ploughed into it.
The work's completion is being paid for by a $4.5 million mortgage that was taken out by the property's owners, KA2 Trust.

The top floor, which would have housed Mark and Amanda's master bedroom, several smaller bedrooms for the children, a vast tiled bathroom and at least three toilets plus study, is complete.
High-end real estate expert Graham Wall estimated the value to be in excess of $20 million.
"By the time it's finished, it will be one of the finest homes in Auckland."
The original plans for the house included a guest house, an indoor lap pool, an outdoor pool and two ponds. It would have a 12- to 13-car garage, tennis court, home theatre, music room, bar and cellar, lift, and a games room with a dance floor.
