KEY POINTS:
Hot taps ran cold for about 200 West Auckland homes after the storm that thrashed the region on Thursday.
Electricity to hot-water tanks was cut by the storm as winds hit 150km/h, toppling trees on to power lines, lifting roofs and breaking windows.
A spokeswoman for lines company Vector, Denise Bailey, said yesterday that all the disconnected homes had had their hot-water heating reconnected by Saturday night.
