KEY POINTS:
Tests have found no trace of the superbug vancomycin enterococci at Starship Children's Hospital, National Women's Hospital or the Greenlane Clinical Centre.
Of more than a thousand patients tested at Auckland City Hospital, three people were infected with the bug and 35 carry it. Twelve of the carriers are still in the hospital, in isolation.
An intensive cleaning operation is continuing. All patients will be tested for the bacteria on arrival at Auckland City Hospital.
The Auckland District Health Board says no patients have died as a direct result of the disease.
