Mediation between hospital service workers and district health boards has stalled, reigniting the prospect of a strike next week.
The Service and Food Workers' Union, representing orderlies, cleaners and kitchen staff, on Friday accused DHB delegates of walking out on talks it was hoped would forestall a strike planned from midnight Tuesday. But DHB spokesman Craig Climo said they needed time to analyse a union response and would return to talks on Thursday.
