KEY POINTS:
Accidents involving horses prompted two rescue helicopter call-outs and landed two women in hospital at the weekend.
On Saturday, near Havelock North, a woman suffered a broken arm when a horse she was leading turned and kicked her. The Lowe Corporation rescue helicopter flew her to Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital.
Yesterday, a horse spooked by cattle twice kicked a woman in the chest on a farm 12km south of Tauranga. Because of the terrain and the nature of her injuries, the TrustPower TECT chopper was called in to fly her to hospital.
