Former All Black Ofisa Tonu'u may have had a plan to combat his Fight For Life foe John Hopoate, but it amounted to little help in the ring.
Former league player Hopoate, who is trying his hand at professional boxing in two weeks, overwhelmed Tonu'u with a technical knockout decision in two rounds.
The fight was the highlight of a night of spectacular entertainment, said Fight For Life spokeswoman Raegan Houldridge.
"And hopefully we raised as much money as we could for the Child Cancer Foundation."
She would not know the amount until next week, but hoped for $500,000.
