Pioneer gave unbeaten Harcourts a run for their money in their Netball Wairarapa premier playoff match at the Colombo Rd courts on Saturday.
Unbeaten Harcourts started hot favourites but while their victory margin of 67-41 was comfortable enough, they were kept honest by a Pioneer side doing enough to suggest their dream of making the grand final is still alive.
The other two premier one matches were played at the Genesis Recreation Centre on Friday night and produced expected wins to St Matthew's Collegiate and Wairarapa College, both of whom are guaranteed semifinal spots.
St Matthew's Collegiate beat Makoura College 52-37 and Wairarapa College accounted for Carterton New World Legends 58-28.
